Rain Gardens
What is the Purpose of a Rain Garden?
Rain can cause quite a bit of runoff which ends up in the sewer system and does not benefit your yard or garden. This leads to a great waste when you water your lawn. The purpose of a rain garden is to catch rainwater runoff and stop it from reaching your sewer system. This is done by planting a shallow area with grasses and plants near a downspout to give the rainwater the opportunity to be absorbed. At The Village Gardens, we have all of the necessary tools and knowledge to help you plant a rain garden on your property.
A rain garden can be placed to catch runoff from:
- Roofs
- Walkways
- Parking lots
- Compacted lawns
- Downspouts
- Driveways
Rain gardens are incredibly important and a key element to your overall landscaping design. Contact our office today at (410) 549-8788 if you would like to find out more about the benefits of a rain garden!
